HAPPY NATIONAL BURGER DAY!!!!! This is one of my favorite days of the year. I would like to take you on a journey of some of the best and the worst burgers from coast to coast. Some of my ratings go against popular belief but who cares.
The most over rated burger in Los Angeles coming in at #10 from Fathers Office. I went and was thoroughly disappointed. They don’t allow ketchup. I don’t like to be told what I can and can’t have. Already of on a bad note. The Blue Cheese over powered all of the other flavors. Boo!!!

#9 Comes from Umami Burger. Again with the gourmet sauces. I’m all for gourmet, if there is a classic alternative but when all you have is fancy ketchup I’m out. I have to be honest the actual burger was good but the sides were no good and the fancy smancy ketch up rubbed me the wrong way. I might go back but I would have to smuggle my own ketchup in.

#8 is from Apple Pan. I am going to take half the blame on this one because of user error. I went with the Steakburger and should have gotten the Hickory Burger. Oops!
#7 comes from Baby Blues BBQ in West Hollywood. The patty is ground with blue cheese and maple bacon. For a non classic approach, it is pretty good. Plus the waitresses are cute. They are all look like stand ins for Jessica Simpson in Dukes of Hazards. Maybe not that hot but you get the idea.

This is where it starts to get hard. All of the burgers coming up are amazing in their own respects and all deserve high marks!
#6 is the Black Truffle Burger from DB Bistro. This is not your everyday burger. It is more of a bucket list burger for the real enthusiasts. With the price tag of $185 you will fast go broke if you eat this burger too often.

#5 is from Stout Burger. Dripping with juicy goodness I can’t wait to go back and have another one.

#4 from the good guys over at The Golden State. A solid burger every time I get it. I eat it quit often. They really know how to do the perfect medium rare.
#3 is hard to find unless you know what your looking for. The Burger Joint at Le Parker Meridian. 1 part taste, 1 part experience and 1 part price all combine to make an amazing burger. If you are in NY you need to check it out. Don’t be nervous to ask one of the guys in the lobby where it is because you will most likely not be able to find it your first time.
#2 will take you back to NY to The Spotted Pig. I really enjoyed this burger. It was worth the hour wait to get a table. Really loved the grilled bun. The meat was packed with flavor.

#1 came down to a tie. I have an east coast and a west coast winner. I will start with the East and finish with the West because I am from the West.
The Black Label Burger at Minetta Tavern is simple mouth watering. No sauce necessary. I need this in my mouth right now. Perfection in the form of a burger.

The best burger is brought to you by Comme Ca. Writing about the taste of a burger like this is pointless. You need to seek this burger out an enjoy every mouth watering bite. I might go here for lunch today. Who is coming with me?

There you have it folks. My top 10 11 burgers. How does my list compare to yours? Comment and tell me about it. Or hit me on my Twitter and we can have it out over a long series of @ replies. Good day people. EAT A HAMBURGER TODAY

Wait, WHAT!? The 5 Napkin Burger (NYC) didn’t make the list? This is an outrage! (kidding) If you haven’t had it, you haven’t lived. Best, juciest burger in the East. The Fries leave something to be desired, but boy is the burger amazing.
10oz. of Fresh Ground chuck, Caramalized onions, Gruyere Cheese, rosemary aioli on a nice buttery like bun…. MMMMmm. Try to contain yourself, it even better than it sounds. Definitely beats out Le Parker Meridian’s burger, BY 5 NAPKINS. (haha) Although, that’s a nice experience but a tad overpriced and not quite worth the wait.

Stand4 in NYC has the best, along with Burger Joint (but you got that one). You should give some love to Bobcat Bite’s green chile cheeseburger in Santa Fe, NM as well.

Cara, Funny you mentioned Bobcat Bite’s. I sent someone out there to check it out. Post coming soon.

The Shack Burger in Playa del Rey’s The Shack is among the best burgers I’ve ever had. Juicy burger, hot links and all the trad fixins make it a must have. Not a gourmet burger but man is it awesome (especially after four hours of beach volleyball).

Whitmans Juicy Lucy in Manhattan is the best new burger to come out and everyone should try it for themselves. Those guys make a damn good burger.

These all look great. If you are ever in Chicago you must try Kuma’s Corner, it’s amazing, the best burger I’ve ever had and good beer too.
— Tyler · Jul 26, 06:36 AM · #
SUPER CO-SIGN Tyler above, Kuma’s Corner is REEEE-DICKULOUS! Two Hour wait totally worth it. I haven’t tried the NYC spots, but you’re pretty much on the money about the LA spots, one location I would include is Pete’s Cafe & Bar in Downtown LA, “Hellman Burger”, kinda smokey but veryy good.

If you want a truly amazing burger…you will have to travel to sleepy Surrey town, Buckland to The Red Lion. This burger is 8oz and 100% beef, absolutely NOTHING is added to the meat, served with a toasted bun, mayo, tomato and freshly made and cooked onion rings, fries, salad and causlaw.
